Chef-Director Birdie Baker is a Cordon Bleu qualified chef and has worked as both a Private Chef and in restaurants for many years looking after prestigious clientele. Following 11 years in Salcombe, where her father was the vicar, she went on to work as a Head Chef in Deli’s in London, New Zealand and Australia, catered on super yachts and in ski resorts. She has catered for a variety of Director’s Lunches in the City of London, at H.M Tower of London and worked as a Private Chef for for A-list clients including a 007, Well known A List Rock stars and Actors, including cooking for members of the Royal Family at Highgrove. More recently, she has run her own cafes in and around West London.
In 2021, she relocated to the South West and has reopened what were the Refreshment Rooms at the South Devon Railway as Birdie's Kitchen,
